In 1885, an anatomist from the city of Prague, Chr. Aeby, and a Swiss engineer, A. Büchi, built the first representative model of the brain nerve fibers and emotional areas of the human brain with educational scientific purposes. This creation had such a big success that it has been required by biological medical institutions in over twenty cities around the world. Goal: to train the doctors of the future and learn about the human mind at a cost of 500 Swiss francs.
Thanks to the instructions included in a publication written by the two scholars, Fogarolli has rebuilt this model. The project will be developed by the year 2020. Its goal is to recreate all the lost brain models and bring them back to the other cities of the world where they were but in which they are no longer kept.
With this project Fogarolli also aims to put a number of questions about the relationship between human and digital archiving. How far does the contemporary society system combine our chances of progress and construction of memory? Are we subjected to gears that facilitate and improve the preservation of what we really are or is the absolute abundance of data about us bringing us to adrift and oblivion?
